How to Play RetroVerse
Five steps from the info panel to Free Spins. If you've only played payline slots, the big change is that nothing here pays left to right.
Most of the action kicks off in the bonus round; see how the RetroVerse features trigger.
Check the RTP and Set Your Base Bet
Open RetroVerse and look at the info panel first. The main build runs at 96.24%, but casinos can also load 94.37%, 92.38% or 85.32% versions. Then pick your Base Bet. Push Gaming doesn't publish the bet range, so the limits you see come from the casino. Every win and every buy price is counted in multiples of this Base Bet.
Decide on Push Bet
Push Bet is optional. Boost costs 1.5x the Base Bet per spin and makes Free Spins 2.5x more likely. Mega Boost costs 2.5x and makes them 9.5x more likely. Wins are still worked out from the Base Bet, so you're paying for more frequent triggers, not bigger pays. The 85.32% build doesn't have it.
Spin and Watch the Clusters
The 6x9 grid fills with 54 symbols. Five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a cluster win. Winning symbols disappear, the rest drop down, new ones fall in from the top, and this repeats until no new win forms. There are no paylines to track.
Let the Wilds and Specials Work
Wilds land with a x1–x10 multiplier, stay on the grid while they keep winning and add +1 per winning cascade. A Wild Mystery box has three levels, climbs one with each win it joins, and at the top opens into a Wild, a Scatter or a Magnet. The Magnet pulls one paying symbol type together into a cluster, and the Light Gun can clear two paying symbol types.
Trigger Free Spins
Land 3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatters (the Console Symbol) for 6, 8, 10 or 12 Free Spins. Empty positions spin for Wilds, Instant Prizes from x1 to x500, Magnets, Extra Spins or Blanks. Instant Prizes stick, new Wilds add 2 spins, and clusters of 5+ Instant Prizes pay at the end. A round can never pay more than 10,000x the Base Bet.
Cluster Paytable
Six regular symbols, paired in three tiers. Both symbols in a pair pay the same. Notice how slowly the small clusters pay: a 5-cluster of a top symbol returns half your Base Bet, while 17 or more of them returns 250x.
| Cluster size | H1 / H2 | M1 / M2 | L1 / L2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 17+ | 250x | 25x | 8x |
| 15–16 | 50x | 10x | 4x |
| 13–14 | 10x | 5x | 2x |
| 11–12 | 5x | 2x | 1x |
| 10 | 2x | 1x | 0.6x |
| 9 | 1.5x | 0.8x | 0.5x |
| 8 | 1.2x | 0.6x | 0.4x |
| 7 | 1x | 0.5x | 0.3x |
| 6 | 0.8x | 0.4x | 0.2x |
| 5 | 0.5x | 0.3x | 0.1x |
Values are multiples of the Base Bet, taken from the game client's paytable data.
What the Symbols Look Like
Push Gaming hasn't published names for the six regular symbols. The game code calls them H1 to L2. The descriptions below are ours, based on the symbol art, and they aren't official names.
| Code | Tier | Looks like (unofficial) |
|---|---|---|
| H1 | High | Red retro controller with a face |

| M1 | Medium | Purple handheld console with a face on the screen |

Bonus Features Explained
Four mechanics carry the game. Here's what each one does, in plain terms.
Clusters & Cascades
Five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a win. Winners disappear, the rest fall, new symbols drop in, and the chain keeps going until no new cluster forms. One symbol can sit in more than one cluster.
Wild Multipliers
The Wild (Arcade Symbol) lands with a multiplier from x1 to x10. Each time it takes part in a win it stays where it is and adds +1. Several Wilds in one cluster all apply their multipliers, one after another.
Wild Mystery, Magnet & Light Gun
The Wild Mystery box climbs its three levels through cluster wins and then opens into a Wild (x2–x10), a Scatter or a Magnet. The Magnet drags every symbol of one paying type to itself. The Light Gun can clear two paying symbol types at random.
Free Spins
3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatters award 6, 8, 10 or 12 spins. Empty positions spin for Wilds, Instant Prizes (x1–x500), Magnets, Extra Spins or Blanks. Instant Prizes stick, each new Wild adds 2 spins, and clusters of 5+ Instant Prizes pay at the end.
Quick Strategy Tips
Bankroll first. Push Gaming rates RetroVerse as high volatility and doesn't publish a hit rate or a Free Spins trigger rate. So there's no honest "you'll hit the bonus every X spins" figure. Set a total budget first, then pick a Base Bet small enough that a long dry run doesn't finish the session early.
Know your build. 96.24% is the main RTP. The same game also exists at 94.37%, 92.38% and 85.32%, and the casino decides which one you get. If two casinos both offer RetroVerse, the one running the higher build gives you more back over time for exactly the same gameplay.
Push Bet vs Bonus Buy. Boost (1.5x) and Mega Boost (2.5x) raise every spin's cost to make Free Spins more likely. The Bonus Buy skips the wait: 120x for Free Spins or 280x for Super Free Spins. On the main build their RTPs sit between 96.30% and 96.42%, so none of them is a shortcut to a better return. They change how fast you spend.
Session discipline. Set a win target and a loss limit before you start. The 10,000x cap is the most a round can ever pay, not something a typical bonus gets near. If a bonus lands well, banking some of it is a perfectly good decision.
