RetroVerse — Bonus Features

RetroVerse has six moving parts: Wild multipliers, the Wild Mystery box, the Magnet and Light Gun, Free Spins, the Collector and Multiplicator, and the Push Bet and Bonus Buy. Here's how each one works and what it pays.

If you are not sure how to set these off, the step-by-step RetroVerse guide covers it.

How Each Feature Pays

Triggers, values and what each mechanic means for you. Everything comes from the game rules and Push Gaming's own figures. Push doesn't publish trigger frequencies, so you won't find invented odds below.

Wild Symbol (Arcade Symbol)

How to Trigger

Lands on the grid in the base game. In Free Spins, empty positions can spin into a Wild.

What Happens

The Wild substitutes for all paying symbols. It does not replace Scatter, Magnet, Light Gun, Multiplicator, Collector or Wild Mystery symbols. When it takes part in a cluster win, it stays where it is instead of being cleared, and its multiplier goes up by 1. It only leaves the grid once the cascade sequence runs out of new wins.

Values

Starting multiplier between x1 and x10, then +1 for every winning cascade the Wild takes part in. A cluster with several Wilds gets each multiplier applied one after another, so two Wilds in the same win stack rather than overwrite.

Good to Know

In Free Spins every newly landed Wild adds 2 free spins on top of its multiplier job. Wilds already on the grid when the feature starts stay in place.

What It Means for You

This is the symbol that turns a small cluster into a real payout. A Wild that survives three or four cascades has grown by +3 or +4, and that's where the bigger base-game hits come from.

Wild Mystery Symbol (Box Symbol)

How to Trigger

Lands in the base game and can appear on empty positions in Free Spins.

What Happens

In the base game the box has 3 levels and goes up one level every time it's part of a cluster win. At the top level it opens into a Wild with a starting multiplier of x2 to x10, a Scatter, or a Magnet. If the grid already holds the maximum number of Scatters, it can reveal an Instant Prize worth x25, x50, x100, x250 or x500 instead. In Free Spins the rules change: the box only opens when its cluster contains the number of Instant Prize and Collector symbols shown on it.

Values

Base-game reveals: Wild x2–x10, Scatter or Magnet, or an Instant Prize of x25–x500 when Scatters are maxed. Free Spins reveals: Instant Prize x25–x500, Wild x2–x10, Magnet, Multiplicator or Collector.

Good to Know

The Wild Mystery is the only way a Collector reaches the grid, and one of two ways a Multiplicator does. So in Free Spins it decides how far the round can grow.

What It Means for You

In the base game the box only climbs by joining cluster wins, and it only opens at the top level. So it pays off on long cascade chains, not on one-off wins. A Wild with a x2 to x10 start out of the box is the reveal that helps most straight away.

Magnet & Light Gun

How to Trigger

Both land as symbols on the grid. A Magnet can also come out of a Wild Mystery or spin onto an empty position in Free Spins.

What Happens

The Magnet picks one paying symbol type at random and pulls every symbol of that type on the grid to its position, which forms a cluster win. It can also pull Instant Prize symbols together when at least 4 are visible, and Wild or Wild Mystery symbols can be dragged along. Afterwards the Magnet turns into the matching paying symbol, or into an Instant Prize with a random value. The Light Gun can remove 2 paying symbol types from the grid at random and only touches regular paying symbols.

Values

Neither has a multiplier of its own. The Magnet matters because it can drag Wilds into the cluster it builds, and those Wilds bring their own x1–x10 values with them.

Good to Know

The Light Gun sits on the base reels as an ordinary special symbol. It is not one of the Wild Mystery reveals in the rules.

What It Means for You

A Magnet guarantees a cluster, but the size depends on how many symbols of the chosen type are on the grid. The Light Gun works the other way: it removes clutter, so the symbols that fall in afterwards get a fresh chance to connect.

Free Spins

How to Trigger

3 or more Scatters (Console Symbol) anywhere on the grid.

What Happens

3 Scatters give 6 spins, 4 give 8, 5 give 10 and 6 give 12. Wild Mystery, Wild and Instant Prize symbols already on the grid stay for the feature. On each spin the empty positions spin and land on a Wild (x1–x10), a Wild Mystery, an Instant Prize, a Magnet, an Extra Spin symbol or a Blank. Instant Prizes stick until the end. Blanks don't stick and don't pay. Extra Spins add 1 or 2 spins and then turn into a random Instant Prize. If every position fills, the round ends there, and all Instant Prize clusters are paid at the end.

Values

Instant Prizes are worth x1, x2, x5, x10, x25, x50, x100, x250 or x500 and pay as clusters of at least 5. The Multiplicator multiplies its neighbours by x2, x3, x5 or x10, and Wilds keep their x1–x10 values.

Good to Know

Push Gaming sells two versions through the Bonus Buy, Free Spins and Super Free Spins, but it does not publish how Super Free Spins differs from the regular round.

What It Means for You

Free Spins play more like filling a board than spinning reels. Each sticky Instant Prize takes up a position for good, so the round is a race between the grid filling up and the prizes forming clusters of 5 or more that are worth something.

Collector & Multiplicator

How to Trigger

Free Spins only. The Collector comes only from a Wild Mystery. The Multiplicator comes from a Wild Mystery or from a Collector action.

What Happens

When a Collector is part of a cluster, it collects the values of every Instant Prize in that cluster, and those Instant Prizes are removed. The emptied positions spin again for a Wild (x1–x10), Wild Mystery, Instant Prize, Magnet, Multiplicator or Extra Spin (1 or 2). A later Collector takes the previous Collector's value, not the symbol. The Multiplicator multiplies every Instant Prize and Collector next to it, then turns into a random Instant Prize.

Values

Multiplicator values: x2, x3, x5 or x10. It hits every adjacent Instant Prize and Collector, so its position on the grid decides how much it's worth.

Good to Know

Neither symbol exists in the base game. Both only appear inside Free Spins.

What It Means for You

This is the payout engine of the bonus. A Collector clears space while banking value, and the respins that follow can bring in a Multiplicator. Put a Multiplicator next to a Collector that has already banked a few prizes and the whole collected value gets multiplied.

Push Bet & Bonus Buy

How to Trigger

Optional, picked from the bet menu. What you see depends on the RTP build the casino runs.

What Happens

Push Bet has two modes. Boost costs 1.5x the Base Bet and makes Free Spins 2.5x more likely. Mega Boost costs 2.5x and makes them 9.5x more likely. The Bonus Buy offers Free Spins for 120x the Base Bet and Super Free Spins for 280x. Wins are always calculated from the Base Bet, not from the boosted stake.

Values

Costs are fixed multiples of the Base Bet: 1.5x and 2.5x per spin for Push Bet, 120x and 280x one-off for the buys.

Good to Know

The 96.24% and 94.37% builds have both Push Bet and Bonus Buy. The 92.38% build has Push Bet but no Bonus Buy. The 85.32% build has neither.

What It Means for You

On the 96.24% build each option has its own RTP: 96.42% for Boost, 96.30% for Mega Boost, 96.32% for the 120x buy and 96.41% for the 280x buy. All of them sit close to the base figure, so the real choice is how fast you want to spend, not which option is "better value".

Push Bet & Bonus Buy by RTP Build

Each option has its own RTP, and it depends on which build the casino runs. These are the figures from the game client for the two builds that offer both options.

OptionCostRTP on 96.24% buildRTP on 94.37% build
Push Bet: Boost1.5x Base Bet per spin96.42%94.36%

Bonus Buy: Free Spins120x Base Bet96.32%94.34%
Bonus Buy: Super Free Spins280x Base Bet96.41%94.27%

On the lower builds the menu shrinks. The 92.38% version keeps Push Bet (Boost at 92.39%, Mega Boost at 92.26%) but has no Bonus Buy. The 85.32% version has neither. So if the buy button is missing at your casino, check the RTP line in the info panel before you go any further.

What about Super Free Spins? It costs 280x instead of 120x, and on the main build its RTP is 96.41% against 96.32%. Push Gaming hasn't published what the extra money changes inside the round, and we're not going to guess. If you want to know, the demo lets you buy both on play money and compare.
